Summary: Understand the headline metrics, trend arrows, and sparklines at the top of the Analytics page.
Before you begin
The figures reflect the selected time range and any active filters, so set those first. If there are no sales in the selected window, metrics show a dash (—).
Steps
- Open Analytics in your Shopify admin.
- Set the time range using the range toggle near the top right. Choose from Last day, Last 7 days, Last month, Last 3 months, Last year, or Last 5 years. Every section on the page reports on this window.
- Read the Overview bar. Each tile shows a metric for the selected range:
- Gross sales — total gross revenue.
- Tickets sold — number of ticket units sold.
- Avg. order — average gross value per order.
- Per head — average gross per paid attendee.
- Check the trend indicator under each tile. The percentage and arrow compare the selected range against the immediately preceding period of the same length — green and up means it grew, red and down means it fell.
- Glance at the sparkline beside each metric to see how it moved over the range.
- To focus the numbers on a single event, location, product, or variant, apply a filter — see Filter analytics.
