Apply the service fee

Summary: The service fee is added to every Shopify POS cart automatically by the Live Events Platform fee tile — there's nothing to tap.

Before you begin

  • The Platform fee tile (subtitle: Auto-added to every cart) must be installed on the POS home screen.

How it works

  1. As soon as a cart has at least one item, Live Events adds a non-taxable Service Fee line automatically.
  2. The fee is added once per cart — it won't duplicate if you keep adding items, and it's cleared along with the cart when the cart is emptied.
  3. You don't open the tile to apply the fee; it works in the background. Complete checkout as normal.

Notes

  • Because the fee is added automatically, staff don't need to remember it on each sale.
  • The fee line appears in the cart total at checkout and is reconciled at settlement — see The service fee.
