Director of Fulfillment Operations Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Operations to lead our fulfillment and warehouse execution in the Austin area. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level company strategy and daily floor execution. This position will own the day-to-day performance of our warehouse facilities, managing operational budgets, driving labor productivity and scalability, ensuring safety compliance, and meeting stringent client service level agreements. This role requires a strong leader who can proactively manage warehouse space, resources, SLAs, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and frontline warehouse teams.
This position is onsite - applicants must reside in the Austin area and be willing to commute to ONELIVE’s warehouse on weekdays.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily warehouse operationsleading teams in receiving, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, and returns processing to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
- Own the operational budget and cost-per-unit metrics, actively identifying opportunities to reduce labor inefficiencies and operational waste.
- Ensure client processes related to onboarding, management, and ongoing communication are smooth and transparent.
- Drive adherence to client SLAs, maintaining high order accuracy rates, on-time shipping percentages, and seamless inventory visibility.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of warehouse managers and support staff, while creating a leadership pipeline for personal growth and advancement.
- Partner with the COO to implement continuous improvement initiatives, lean warehousing methodologies, and facility automation upgrades.
- Ensure all facility operations comply with OSHA guidelines, safety standards, and local regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for escalated client operational inquiries and participate in client onboarding reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive operations experience within a 3PL, warehousing, or high-volume distribution environment and staff management.
- Demonstrated expertise using and optimizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and labor management tools.
- Proven track record of managing P&L operating budgets and leading large hourly workforces.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in analyzing operational data to forecast labor needs and throughput capacity.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure logistics environment.
